Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Welding and Quality Inspection) with Honours

Overview

Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Welding and Quality Inspection) with Honours is the first programme of its kind in Malaysia and would probably be the first in this region. The modules/syllabus were developed by Universiti Kuala Lumpur with the cooperation of our industrial partner, SIRIM Berhad. This a four-year programme that is intended to produce future graduates or individuals with professional qualifications accepted by the industries. The programme would also emphasize in imparting up-to-date technical know-how and competencies as a Welding Engineer. 

Entry Requirements

  • Passed Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with a minimum of at least Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in 3 subjects including Mathematics, a Science subject related and one other subjects AND pass in English at SPM or equivalent
    OR
  • Pass Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Jayyid Level and pass English at SPM or equivalent level
    OR
  • Passed Diploma in Engineering / Engineering Technology (Level 4,KKM) in related field from a recognized PPT by the Malaysian Government with minimum CGPA 2.0
    OR
  • Passed Diploma (Level 4, KKM) in the field of Vocational, Science or Technical/related skills and from the recognized PPT by the Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a pass in English at SPM level or equivalent
    OR
  • Pass in Foundation in Science and Technology / Science / Matriculation / Preparatory Program in Science from recognized PPT by the Malaysian Government with minimum CGPA 2.0 including Mathematics and one Science subject INCLUDING a pass in English at SPM or equivalent
    OR
  • Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least 24/45 points including Mathematics and one Science subject
    OR
  • Passed Higher National Diploma (HND), UK (Level 4, KKM) in related field from recognized PPT by the Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and
    Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
  • POSSESSED A MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET) AT LEAST OF BAND 2
    OR
  • AT LEAST MINIMUM IELTS BAND 4.0
    OR
  • HAVE MINIMUM SCORES FOR TOEFL AT LEAST 450 (PBT) or 135 (CBT) or 40 (IBT)

Program Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.

Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
