Overview

Electronics Engineering is one of the largest and fastest growing industries. It covers a wide range of applications we use daily and which make our life easier and enjoyable such as television, radio, computers, telecommunication etc. They help us to see, hear and communicate over vast distances and industries like oil, energy, agriculture and so many other important sectors of the economy. In steel, petroleum and chemical industries it is the electronic devices that direct, control and test production processes. Health care industry depends on electronic instruments to perform chemical tests and to check body functions. The safety in transportation, factories and mines and in homes rely heavily on electronics. The uses are endless.


The students in this programme will learn how to find new solutions to the practical problems affecting our daily lives. They will learn how to work in a team with other specialists to design, fabricate, produce, test and supervise the manufacture of complex products and systems i.e electronic equipment and components for a number of industries including hospitals, computer industry, electronic data processing systems for communication and in defense etc. They will expose to the production and manufacturing processes and will learn how to oversee installation and maintenance. Electronic Engineers work with devices that use extremely small amounts of power. They work with microprocessors, fibre optics and in telecommunication, television, radio etc.

Entry Requirements

  • Pass in STPM/Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent, with minimum CGPA 2.0 and at least Grade C in Mathematics and one relevant Science subject; OR
  • Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least 24 points; OR
  • Pass in A-Level with minimum Grade D in Mathematics one (1) relevant Science subject; OR
  • Pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with minimum grade of Jayyid and pass SPM or its equivalent with minimum Grade C in Mathematics and one relevant Physical Science subjects (i.e; Physic, Chemistry & etc); OR
  • Recognized Diploma in Engineering/Engineering Technology or its equivalent with CGPA 2.0; OR
  • Recognized related Technical/Vocational/Skills Diploma with CGPA 2.0
    Pass Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and the program must get Full Accreditation (FA) by MQA or others Accreditation bodies that had been recognized by government of Malaysia and according to approval by UniKL Senate OR
  • Pass the DKM/DLKM/DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 AND have at least two (2) years of work experience in the related field. The program must get Full Accreditation (FA) by MQA or others Accreditation bodies that had been recognized by government of Malaysia and according to approval by UniKL Senate;

Program Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.

Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
